As the Managing Director, I can indicate clearly that management considers safety to be an integral and essential part of the successful performance of every job within our organisation.
We are committed to the establishment of a safe place of work, to safe working methods, and to the provision of safe plant, machinery and equipment. This particularly applies to all contract work where the Company's policy is to work in conjunction with the Prime Contractor's site safety policy.
Every level of management and supervision will consider the safety and health factor and accident potential involved in every activity performed by their personnel and ensure that prompt action is taken to eliminate unsafe conditions and practices. Managers and supervisors at all levels will plan and conduct activities in such a manner as to avoid accidents.
It is intended that management and employee representatives will co-operate to achieve a healthy and safe environment. Management and supervisory efficiency and ability will be judged by accident prevention performances as well as by other standards.
Supervisors will ensure that employees receive adequate and ongoing training to perform their jobs safely. The direct responsibility for the safe performance of an operation will rest with the supervisor and each employee.
Every employee is personally responsible to perform their duties, giving primary concern to the safety of our customers, their own safety, the safety of their fellow employees, and the property and equipment entrusted to their care.
Each and every person will observe the rules of conduct and safety, and take care of safety equipment provided and ensure its proper use.
The safe execution of work requires a responsible attitude, job knowledge, skill, good leadership, and an organised approach to plan and integrate safety into the work sequence.
Failure to comply with any part of this policy by any employee will result in appropriate disciplinary action.
