Powered Luminous Stair Nosing

The Powered Luminous Stair Nosing came to life after many discussions with lighting engineers and consultants who work for or represent the major Cinema chains. They expressed what qualities an illuminated stair should possess for the unique conditions found in a cinema or any light sensitive environment.

• Powered Luminous Stair Nosing is ideal for theatres and cinemas requiring a more aesthetically pleasing environment as an alternative to aisle and seat lighting
• The stair nosing comes with an anti-slip insert available in a variety of colours with an optional luminous strip
• The product can be used as an alternative to or in combination with aisle and seat lighting
• Automatic dimmers can be used when powered
• Uses 2 watts of power per metre
• Microlites 100000 hours life expectancy
• Fully powered on only 4.0 volts
• 1 power supply services 30 metres

WOES001 features

• Designed to improve the visibility of stairs in dark or dimly lit areas ranging from a large auditorium down to a small home theatre
• Highly durable aluminium extrusion anodised to 20 microns; more grams of aluminium per metre than any other comparable product available
• Anti-slip strip made from a tough vinyl compound
• Available in 5 metre lengths maximum, otherwise made to order
• Lit by automotive standard microlights
• Microlight spacing can be at 50mm, 100mm, otherwise made to order
• Screw mounted installation is quick and durable
• Exceeds global standards and guidelines

WOES004 features

• Specifically designed for use in cinemas with lens facing downward, so not to interfere with the screen
• Illuminates front of step and the top of the following step (descending ), for increased safety
• Pinhole lighting or photo luminescent co-extrusion incorporated into the anti-slip strip for the top step so the front edge is made visible
• Other than the features listed above, all specifications are identical to the WOES001 profile

Properties of Luminous Insert

• Fully charged by 30 minutes excitation from ambient light source
• Fully charged by light source as low as 6 lux
• Visible for 12 hours after removal of light source
• Nil maintenance as strip is encased in tough polycarbonate tube (WOES 001)
• Coextruded into vinyl antislip insert (WOES 004)
• Visible in smoke or blackout conditions
• Seat numbers and aisle markers available on request
