External Luminous Stair Nosing Applications

Vodafone Stadium and Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne Park

We were asked to come up with an alternative to the aisle lighting required to illuminate the leading edge of the stairs in both these stadiums known worldwide as the home of the Australian Tennis Open.

The stairs would be subjected to foot traffic of a million plus people per year.

The roof would be open for 90% of the time so consideration had to be given to the harshness of the U.V.

The profile must have an anti slip factor exceeding the Australian New Zealand Standard 3661;1.1993.

Many other factors were taken into account and the end result was that the LUMINK™ STAIR NOSING was specified into both these prestigious buildings and has also been used in the State Sports Centre and areas within the Multi Use Arena at Homebush Bay site of the Sydney Olympics.

Other sites include Brisbane International Terminal Complex in Queensland, Fox Studios in Sydney, Palais Theatre in Newcastle and fire stairs in high-rise buildings in the CBD of Melbourne as more architects and specifiers realise the superior performance and minimal maintenance required with the LUMINK™ SYSTEM.
